Предишния ден Христос е върнал към живота мъртвия Лазар и е посрещнат от жителите на Ерусалим като възкресител.На този ден всички отиват в черквата с китки от здравец, върбови клонки и други пролетни цветя. Осветените венчета се връщат в къщи и се поставят пред иконата.
